Guy Sebastian joins the Army!

Not the military type you think? Not so - this very versatile entertainer can sing and perform in any genre or style that he is invited to perform in. Guy Sebastian is currently on a national tour with the Australian Army Band in support of our servicemen and women.

After taking to the stage with Olivia Newton-John recently, to perform a duet with Olivia at her fundraiser for a Wellness Centre and Cancer research, the original Australian Idol winner is now lending his talents to a one-off tour to raise cash for Legacy - Caring for the Families of Deceased Veterans.

Legacy is proud to present the Australian Army Band in Concert featuring Australia’s premier performer of blues, roots and soul Guy Sebastian in a spectacular evening of entertainment. Capturing all the colour, pomp and ceremony, backed by an amazing ensemble of over 60 Army musicians and precision ceremonial teams which combine to promise an evening you won’t forget whilst supporting a worthy cause.

Legacy is a unique Australian charity supporting the families of deceased veterans including our recent and current operations around the globe.

Guy performed on Sunrise to promote the Army Band Tour. David Koch and Natalie Barr the Sunrise hosts doubled up as on stage dancers!

Here is the Sunrise Memphis Medley performance - amazing energy and talent!

Here is the Sunrise Climb Every Mountain performance - stunning vocals!

With the endorsement of Australia's Chief of Army:

Lieutenant General Ken Gillespie AO, DSC, CSM

the Australian Army Band lineup is very impressive with over 60 musicians on stage

Is there a Soul Music Revival happening World Wide? I think so!!

Steve Cropper has just launched his Official MySpace page this week to an overwhelming response from his fans and lovers of SOUL music!
Steve Cropper Official MySpace Page

Cropper is generally regarded as the most well known and influential Soul guitarist and because of his ability to adapt to many different styles, in 1996, he was named the greatest living guitar player (second all-time behind Jimi Hendrix) by Britain's Mojo Magazine. When asked what he thought of Cropper, the guitarist at number four, The Rolling Stones' Keith Richards, said "Perfect, man".

I totally adore Steve Cropper for giving back to SOUL MUSIC and for embracing and promoting young SOUL artists like Guy Sebastian who is a freak Soul Man!!

Allmusic Review of THE MEMPHIS ALBUM

Highly recommended: Review of the Memphis Album on Allmusic

'The Memphis Album' is an excellent introduction to Memphis soul for neophytes, and a good introduction to Guy Sebastian for those unfamiliar with his talent or intellectually averse towards any 'Idol' releases. For diehard soul collectors, the backing tracks alone by the MGs and Memphis horns should be enough incentive to pick up the CD; Guy Sebastian's sheer talent will be a nice revelation. Recommended.

You can read the full review on allmusic and listen to the Memphis Album tracks listed.
